The paper is inspired by the internship experience at Amorim Cork Italia S.p.A., a leading company in the production of cork stoppers, and aims to explore the topic of Business Intelligence (BI). The first part presents the company, with particular attention to its role in the market and its strong culture of innovation. It then delves into the role of Business Intelligence and its evolution, from the early decision support systems to today's predictive analytics and interactive data visualization tools. A concrete case study of Amorim Cork Italia S.p.A. is also considered, as a new beneficiary of BI solutions, analyzing the main benefits achieved and the challenges encountered. The objective is to highlight how the integration of Business Intelligence represents a key factor in improving operational efficiency and supporting more informed and strategic decision-making processes.
L’elaborato prende spunto dall’esperienza aziendale di tirocinio presso Amorim Cork Italia S.p.A., realtà leader nella produzione di tappi in sughero, per approfondire il tema della Business Intelligence (BI). Nella prima parte viene presentata l’azienda, con una particolare attenzione al suo ruolo nel mercato e alla cultura dell’innovazione che la contraddistingue. Viene poi approfondito il ruolo della Business Intelligence e la sua evoluzione, dalle prime soluzioni di supporto decisionale fino agli attuali strumenti di analisi predittiva e visualizzazione interattiva dei dati. Sarà preso anche in considerazione il caso concreto di Amorim Cork Italia S.p.A., come un nuovo beneficiario delle soluzioni BI, analizzando i principali vantaggi ottenuti e le criticità riscontrate. L’obiettivo è evidenziare come l’integrazione della Business Intelligence rappresenti un fattore chiave per migliorare l’efficienza operativa e supportare processi decisionali più consapevoli e strategici.
