Technological innovation represents a source of great hope, but to apply it effectively in the healthcare and public health sectors, it is essential to have appropriate regulations that minimize the risks associated with its use. The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare perfectly illustrates the urgency of a regulatory framework capable of balancing potential benefits with possible critical issues. This technology is expected to revolutionize healthcare systems by improving diagnostic accuracy, optimizing the efficiency of care delivery, and reducing the risk of errors linked to human biases. However, legitimate concerns remain. Among them are the risks that AI might undermine the patient-provider relationship, contribute to professional deskilling, limit transparency, or introduce diagnostic or therapeutic errors due to complex and difficult-to-decipher decision-making processes. Furthermore, there is concern that it could amplify existing racial or social discrimination or generate new algorithmic biases that are hard to detect and correct.

Abstract
Furthermore, there is concern that it could amplify existing racial or social discrimination or generate new algorithmic biases that are hard to detect and correct.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
