The paper focuses on the role that artificial intelligence can play in the economic sphere, with particular reference to controlling and combating the phenomenon of money laundering. Existing regulations at national and European level, and the main techniques used in detection and prevention systems are examined. The aim of the study is to assess the effectiveness of AI in improving the timeliness, accuracy and efficiency of anti-money laundering activities, while also highlighting the main challenges related to its implementation.
L’elaborato si concentra sul ruolo che l’intelligenza artificiale può assumere in ambito economico, con particolare riferimento al controllo e al contrasto del fenomeno del riciclaggio di denaro. Vengono analizzate le normative vigenti a livello nazionale ed europeo, nonché le principali tecniche impiegate nei sistemi di rilevamento e prevenzione. L’obiettivo dello studio è valutare in che misura l’IA possa contribuire a migliorare la tempestività, l’accuratezza e l’efficienza delle attività antiriciclaggio, evidenziando al contempo le sfide più rilevanti che il suo utilizzo comporta.
