Following the ever-increasing debate around the single currency, especially after the 2008 crisis and the related measures, it was deemed necessary to deepen the structure and role of the Economic and Monetary Union within the European Union, as the most important result of the integration process. Specifically, it was decided to examine the architecture of the Banking Union, especially with regard to the relationship between the European Parliament and the Central Bank and the three pillars of the Banking Union, compared to the regulatory structure of the American financial market. In this, it is interesting to note the regulatory evolution following the occurrence of economic crises and, like to this, the democratic principle and the theory of differentiated integration are intertwined.

Abstract
Following the ever-increasing debate around the single currency, especially after the 2008 crisis and the related measures, it was deemed necessary to deepen the structure and role of the Economic and Monetary Union within the European Union, as the most important result of the integration process. Specifically, it was decided to examine the architecture of the Banking Union, especially with regard to the relationship between the European Parliament and the Central Bank and the three pillars of the Banking Union, compared to the regulatory structure of the American financial market. In this, it is interesting to note the regulatory evolution following the occurrence of economic crises and, like to this, the democratic principle and the theory of differentiated integration are intertwined.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
