The current work focuses on analyzing and improving internal processes within the pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery department, aiming to minimize waste, optimize resource use, enhance internal organization, and make the patient pathway more efficient. Using a methodological approach based on Lean Management principles, a comprehensive mapping of operational, clinical care, and administrative flows was conducted to identify critical issues, organizational inefficiencies, and bottlenecks. The analysis involved direct departmental observations, staff interviews, review of internal documentation, and key KPIs, which enabled precise identification of priority areas for improvement. Based on this evidence, proposals were developed to streamline activities, enhance interdisciplinary communication, reduce waiting times, and improve perceived quality by patients and their families. Expected outcomes include increased operational efficiency, smoother management of care pathways, and an overall enhancement of the pediatric patient experience.

Abstract
Expected outcomes include increased operational efficiency, smoother management of care pathways, and an overall enhancement of the pediatric patient experience.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
