In light of the growing importance of the concept of supply chain resilience, particularly in the aftermath of the global COVID-19 pandemic, this thesis aims to explore the impact that two distinct strategies—Lean and the Theory of Constraints (TOC)—can have on improving resilient behavior in supply chains. Following a review of the recent literature regarding the application of these approaches to supply chain management and resilience enhancement, a gap is identified—specifically concerning a comparative analysis between the two strategies—which leads to the development of a methodological approach to address it. This thesis focuses on the implementation of Lean supply chain strategy for a northern Italian company, using the AnyLogistix simulation tool to evaluate performance and results. Finally, the outcomes are analyzed and compared with those from the implementation of the Theory of Constraints, carried out in another and complementary thesis project entitled “Supply Chain Resilience: Evaluating Theory of Constraints and Lean Approaches - a TOC-Based Simulation and Comparative Analysis between the Two Strategies Using anyLogistix”, providing an interesting and overall comparative analysis.
