La voce della strada: i linguaggi della musica trap contemporanea

This thesis aims to study the languages used by singers identifiable as contemporary "trappers" in Italy, with an analysis that combines historical depth with linguistic analysis of current content. In the first chapter, more introductory, we will develop a reasoning on the ability of music to represent certain social realities and create subcultures that identify themselves with the symbols and languages of the genre. It will then continue with the birth of the genre trap and the evolution of the movement in our country, also analyzing the linguistic strategies adopted in the past, the expressive ways to build identities, personal narratives and worldviews. The third chapter will be more focused on the concrete analysis of the codes and topics dealt with by gender currently in our country. The results show a tendency to overlap autobiography, fiction and hyperbole, with a language that mixes street codes, digital slang and pop culture references.

Questa tesi ha l'obiettivo di studiare i linguaggi utilizzati dai cantanti identificabili come "trapper" contemporanei in Italia, con un’analisi che coniuga l’approfondimento storico con l’analisi linguistica dei contenuti attuali. Nel primo capitolo, più introduttivo, si svilupperà un ragionamento sulla capacità della musica di rappresentare determinate realtà sociali e creare sottoculture che si identificano nei simboli e nei linguaggi del genere. Si proseguirà poi con la nascita del genere trap e l'evoluzione del movimento nel nostro paese, analizzando anche le strategie linguistiche adottate in passato, le modalità espressive per costruire identità, narrazioni personali e visioni del mondo. Il terzo capitolo sarà quello più incentrato sulla concreta analisi dei codici e dei temi trattati dal genere attualmente nel nostro paese. I risultati mostrano una tendenza alla sovrapposizione tra autobiografia, finzione e iperbole, con un linguaggio che mescola codici della strada, slang digitale e riferimenti alla cultura pop.
