The nuclear force is approximately independent of the nucleon charge. This is reflected in the similar structure of mirror nuclei, with exchanged number of protons and neutrons. Small differences in excitation energy of analogue states are due to the effect of the Coulomb interactions and in a minor extent also to the nuclear interaction. Recent theoretical and experimental studies have shown the important role that low-angular momentum orbits have in determining these energy differences but also the transition probabilities and the neutron skin. The proposed thesis work regards a systematic study of mirror energy differences for nuclei in the sd shell in the framework of the nuclear shell model.
La forza nucleare è approssimativamente indipendente dalla carica del nucleone. Ciò si riflette nella struttura simile dei nuclei speculari, con un numero di protoni e neutroni scambiato. Piccole differenze nell'energia di eccitazione degli stati analoghi sono dovute all'effetto delle interazioni di Coulomb e, in misura minore, anche all'interazione nucleare. Recenti studi teorici e sperimentali hanno dimostrato l'importante ruolo delle orbite a basso momento angolare nel determinare queste differenze di energia, ma anche le probabilità di transizione e la neutron skin. Il lavoro di tesi proposto riguarda uno studio sistematico delle mirror energy differences per i nuclei nelle shell sd nell'ambito del modello a shell nucleare.
