Digital Media, Abortion Debates, and Politics: A Comparative Analysis of Turkey and Spain This thesis explores how digital media platforms influence and shape public and political debates on abortion rights in Turkey and Spain. Through a comparative analysis, the study investigates how social media contributes to the framing of abortion as a socio-political issue, mobilizes activism, and challenges or supports existing policies. It also examines how feminist movements, individual users, and institutional actors utilize digital platforms to advocate for or against reproductive rights. By analyzing prominent hashtags, campaigns, and discourses on platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, the research reveals how digital spaces can both empower feminist voices and reflect societal polarization. The study highlights the dynamic interaction between digital media, public opinion, and political agendas, offering critical insight into the evolving role of media in reproductive justice debates in both countries.
