Overtourism is an increasingly widespread phenomenon that places growing pressure on cities and tourist destinations, with negative effects on the environment, residents' quality of life, and visitors' experiences. In this context, the digital interfaces of public tourist information platforms represent a strategic opportunity to guide tourist behaviour in a more sustainable direction. However, many of these websites fail to consciously leverage the potential of the digital environment and similarly do not implement nudging tools —gentle, non-intrusive mechanisms capable of positively influencing user choices. This work is situated within an interdisciplinary research field that includes behavioral psychology, interaction design, and communication strategies. It aims to offer concrete insights for innovating tourism management policies through digital tools oriented toward the collective good. The study presents a critical review of the literature followed by an analysis of case studies, which is then completed by the development of open-ended design guidelines to support the creation of digital interfaces that are more effective in communicating sustainability messages and fostering conscious decision-making among tourists. The goal of this thesis is to address an existing gap in public communication by investigating how User Experience Design can integrate nudging mechanisms to promote more responsible tourism practices and contribute to the smart management of tourist flows.

Abstract
The goal of this thesis is to address an existing gap in public communication by investigating how User Experience Design can integrate nudging mechanisms to promote more responsible tourism practices and contribute to the smart management of tourist flows.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
