Centuries VIII-X d.C. were of fundamental importance for the evolution of medieval European legal practices: it is in these centuries, for example, that professional judges appear for the first time and that new practices and legal instruments are established. The analysis of the main aspects of Carolingian and Postcarolingian placita may allow us to better understand the structure, the dynamics, profiles and mobility of the assemblies themselves that produced those documents.
