Through this thesis, the aim is to demonstrate that, despite everything, engaging with religion remains crucial for a deeper understanding of the development of the contemporary world, particularly that of the West. The categories of the sacred and nihilism will serve as the guiding framework for the analysis, which will begin with their historical evolution and proceed to examine the effects they have had on the modern world.

Tramite la tesi, si vuole dimostrare che, nonostante tutto, trattare di religioni è ancora cruciale per comprendere al meglio lo sviluppo del mondo attuale, sopratutto quello occidentale.
