L’evoluzione del populismo in Italia: continuità storiche, trasformazioni partitiche e rappresentazioni mediatiche (1946-2020)

The present thesis deals with the ideology of populism from a conceptual point of view by analyzing its ideological and political characteristics, examining its origins and indicating its stages of development and then investigating the different forms in which it appears in the world (Chapter I). The thesis will then focus on the origin of the Fronte dell'Uomo Qualunque, considered as the first true populist party, and then outline its development and decline (Chapter II). The publications of the newspapers Repubblica and Corriere della Sera printed from 2009 to 2020 will then be compared, in order to analyze and compare the positions and opinions taken by the newspapers themselves on the subject of populism (Chapter III).

La present tesi tratta l’ideologia del populismo dal punto di vista concettuale analizzando le sue caratteristiche ideologiche e politiche, esaminando le sue origini e indicando le sue fasi di sviluppo per poi indagare le diverse forme in cui si presenta nel mondo (Capitolo I). La tesi in seguito si concentrerà sull’ origine del Fronte dell'Uomo Qualunque, considerato come il primo vero partito populista, per poi delineare il suo sviluppo e declino (Capitolo II). Verrano poi messe a confronto le pubblicazioni dei giornali Repubblica e Corriere della Sera stampati dal 2009 al 2020, per poi analizzare e confrontare le posizioni e opinioni assunte dai giornali stessi sul tema del populismo (Capitolo III).
