This study explores the experience of gender affirmation in Serbia and Italy through a qualitative, cross-cultural approach. Through the use of the GMSR questionnaire and semi-structured interviews, narratives of transgender people's experiences were collected to analyze how cultural context influences the affirmation journey, psychological well-being, and relationships. The analysis revealed both common elements, such as recurrent personal and social difficulties, and differences related to cultural norms, such as institutional support and visibility. The results emphasize the importance of considering the cultural dimension in affirmation pathways and the construction of inclusive policies for transgender people.
