Perfusion imaging techniques are a powerful tool sensitive to microcirculatory changes that often occur in pathological conditions. These changes represent important biomarkers that precede the morphological alterations detectable with conventional imaging methods, allowing for greater diagnostic confidence across all applications. This work aims to examine the various MRI perfusion techniques, starting with Dynamic Susceptibility Contrast, followed by Arterial Spin Labeling, and concluding with Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced imaging. The analysis will focus on the advantages and disadvantages of each method, the technical differences that determine their use in different clinical and research settings, and the role of the medical radiology technologist within this context.
Le metodiche di studio della perfusione sono un potente strumento sensibile alle variazioni a livello microcircolatorio che in caso di malattia spesso si verificano. Questi cambiamenti rappresentano importanti biomarcatori che precedono le variazioni morfologiche visualizzabili con le metodiche di imaging convenzionali, consentendo una maggiore confidenza diagnostica in tutti gli scenari di utilizzo. Si vuole studiare le varie metodiche di perfusione in risonanza magnetica partendo dalla Dynamic Susceptibility Contrast, passando per l’Arterial Spin Labeling, per concludere con la Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced, analizzando i vantaggi e gli svantaggi di ognuna di esse, le differenze a livello tecnico che le portano ad essere impiegate in ambiti diversi per scopi che sono tra loro differenti e il ruolo del tecnico sanitario di radiologia medica in tutto questo.
