Bronchiolitis is the leading cause of hospitalization in children under one year of age, and has a significant impact not only on the affected individual but also on the relationship with their parents. Nursing management and care are therefore essential, integrating clinical support for the patient, promoting the parent-child relationship, and providing educational activities for the family. The aim of this paper is to analyze, through a narrative review of the literature, the role of nurses in the management of bronchiolitis, paying particular attention to relational and emotional support for parents and, consequently, available preventive strategies. The literature search was conducted on scientific guidelines and databases, including English and Italian studies published in the last ten years regarding the nursing management of bronchiolitis and the experiences of parents in pediatric and neonatal hospital settings. The review identified five main areas: the parent-child relationship, clinical support for patients, support for parents, the central role of nursing staff, and prevention. By integrating clinical, communication, and educational skills, nurses are central to managing bronchiolitis and supporting the parent-child relationship, promoting better continuity of care and helping to reduce family stress, engaging parents, and improving clinical outcomes.

Abstract
By integrating clinical, communication, and educational skills, nurses are central to managing bronchiolitis and supporting the parent-child relationship, promoting better continuity of care and helping to reduce family stress, engaging parents, and improving clinical outcomes.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
