VIVERE CON L’EPILESSIA: LA FIGURA DELL’INFERMIERE SPECIALIZZATO IN EPILESSIA, UNA GUIDA TRA ASSISTENZA E SUPPORTO AL PAZIENTE E AL CAREGIVER

The thesis analyzes, by literature review, the role of nursing in the management of the patient with epilepsy. In particular, the importance of a therapeutic relationship of therapeutic education aimed at caregivers and nursing strategies aimed at reducing social stigma is explored in depth. The analysis shows that care centered on patient and family empowerment improves quality of life, promotes adherence to treatments and reduces the emotional burden of caregivers Particular importance is assumed by the figure of the nurse specialized in epilepsy.

La tesi analizza, tramite revisione della letteratura, il ruolo dell'assistenza infermieristica nella gestione del paziente con epilessia. In particolare, viene approfondita l'importanza di una relazione terapeutica dell'educazione terapeutica rivolta ai caregiver e delle strategie infermieristiche volte a ridurre lo stigma sociale. Dall'analisi emerge che un'assistenza centrata sull'empowerment del paziente e della famiglia migliora la qualità della vita, favorisce l'aderenza ai trattamenti e riduce il carico emotivo dei caregiver. Particolare rilievo assume la figura dell'infermiere specializzato in epilessia.
