The initial focus of this study was to characterise four different zinc phosphate-based coatings applied on carbon steel, aiming to assess their anti-corrosion properties when used as a solution to Corrosion Under Insulation phenomena. Afterwards, two new coatings were produced, and they were both characterised and subjected to two corrosion tests. The morphology and composition of the samples were analysed using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), EDS detector and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Finally, tests such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization were conducted on the new coatings. The tests confirmed that both coatings improved the corrosion resistance of the base material.

Abstract
The tests confirmed that both coatings improved the corrosion resistance of the base material.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
