This thesis aims to update the rating curve of the Valfredda stream. The rating curve is a fundamental tool for the hydrological management of a watercourse, as it allows for the estimation of discharge based on continuously measured water levels. The activity was carried out through a direct flow measurement campaign conducted under various hydrological conditions, in order to establish a new stage–discharge relationship (rating curve). The adopted methodology included: a topographic survey of the hydrometric section, comparison with available historical data, discharge estimation using a flow meter and current meter method, as well as the application of empirical models to validate the results. The collected data were statistically analyzed to define a reliable calibration curve that accurately reflects the current morphological configuration of the streambed. The update of the rating curve was necessary due to natural changes in the streambed and potential alterations in the hydraulic regime caused by recent flood events. The new results were compared with the previous curve to evaluate differences and assess the impact on hydrological monitoring.

The collected data were statistically analyzed to define a reliable calibration curve that accurately reflects the current morphological configuration of the streambed. The update of the rating curve was necessary due to natural changes in the streambed and potential alterations in the hydraulic regime caused by recent flood events.
