The present thesis is part of the broader development of the Constrained Backward Flowforming process, a variant of the traditional backward flowforming of metallic tubes that makes it possible to obtain an ultrafine-grained microstructure and, consequently, an improvement in the mechanical properties of the formed tubes. The aim of the work was the design modification, using the PTC Creo Parametric software, of several components of a previously conceived tooling, in order to enable the execution of the Constrained Backward Flowforming process at elevated temperature on tubes made of EN AW-2011 and EN AW-7075-T6 aluminium alloys. The design activity involved the integration of a cartridge heater inside the tube support and the assessment, through transient thermal simulations, of different heater configurations, with the objective of identifying a solution capable of ensuring a wide range of temperatures in the forming zone, achievable within operationally acceptable heating times. In addition, a preliminary design of a cooling system for the stator of the electric motor included in the tooling was carried out.

Abstract
In addition, a preliminary design of a cooling system for the stator of the electric motor included in the tooling was carried out.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
