Abstract
Hadron therapy uses protons and carbon ions to concentrate the dose on the tumor via the Bragg peak, reducing irradiation of healthy tissues. The thesis compares hadron therapy and conventional radiotherapy by analyzing physical principles, technologies, and clinical protocols, based on the first ten patients treated at the CNAO in Pavia. The results suggest that hadron therapy and conventional radiotherapy are complementary approaches for optimizing the therapeutic pathway.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
