This thesis project aims to analyse the Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH) technique in relation to radiotherapy treatments for breast cancer. Recent technological advances and recognition of the cardiotoxic risk associated with locoregional radiotherapy of the breast have enabled the development of treatment plans that ensure optimal coverage of target tissues while reducing the dose to the cardiovascular system. In this context, the DIBH technique, combined with the use of innovative Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT) technologies, has contributed to changing standard radiotherapy approaches, paving the way for further advances.

Abstract
This thesis project aims to analyse the Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH) technique in relation to radiotherapy treatments for breast cancer. Recent technological advances and recognition of the cardiotoxic risk associated with locoregional radiotherapy of the breast have enabled the development of treatment plans that ensure optimal coverage of target tissues while reducing the dose to the cardiovascular system. In this context, the DIBH technique, combined with the use of innovative Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT) technologies, has contributed to changing standard radiotherapy approaches, paving the way for further advances.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
