This thesis examines the impact of digital technologies on contemporary diplomacy, highlighting how the Internet, social media, and artificial intelligence have transformed the tools, actors, and languages of international relations. After tracing the historical evolution from ancient practices to modern diplomacy, the study explores the rise of digital diplomacy and its main variants — e-diplomacy, cyber diplomacy, and network diplomacy. Through case studies such as the Arab Spring, the Russia–Ukraine war, and the COVID-19 pandemic, it analyzes new mechanisms of communication, influence, and crisis management. Theoretical perspectives combining realism, constructivism, and the multi-stakeholder model show that the digital dimension does not replace traditional diplomacy but rather complements and expands it. The result is a hybrid ecosystem in which power, ethics, and digital sovereignty become central to the global governance of the twenty-first century.

Abstract
The result is a hybrid ecosystem in which power, ethics, and digital sovereignty become central to the global governance of the twenty-first century.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
