This thesis explores the relationship between sports participation, related expenditures, and well-being indicators in European countries. Using Eurostat data for 29 nations, multivariate analysis techniques were applied to summarize information and identify recurring patterns. The results show that sports participation and investments in this sector are strongly associated with perceived well-being, while the link with objective health outcomes, particularly obesity and overweight, appears more complex and influenced by social and institutional factors. Overall, the analysis confirms the importance of sports as a determinant of well-being in European countries, while also highlighting significant differences across geographical areas.

Abstract
This thesis explores the relationship between sports participation, related expenditures, and well-being indicators in European countries. Using Eurostat data for 29 nations, multivariate analysis techniques were applied to summarize information and identify recurring patterns. The results show that sports participation and investments in this sector are strongly associated with perceived well-being, while the link with objective health outcomes, particularly obesity and overweight, appears more complex and influenced by social and institutional factors. Overall, the analysis confirms the importance of sports as a determinant of well-being in European countries, while also highlighting significant differences across geographical areas.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
