The thesis explores the topic of emotions, drawing on the psychological theories of Paul Ekman and Lange, Cannon's physiological theories, and research at the University of Pisa in collaboration with the University of Padua and the University of California, including studies on various forms of therapy (CBT, Emotional ABC, REBT, EFT, DBT) and manual therapy (social skills training, problem solving, psychoeducation). It explores the topic of adolescence and young adulthood, where changes influence emotional experiences, including the onset of mental disorders. The second part of the thesis describes the project work aimed at helping 16- to 19-year-olds recognize their emotions during such a delicate time, when the transition to Mental Health Centers is very challenging for both the adolescents and their families and for the professional team.
