The thesis provides a detailed analysis of the irrigation practices adopted by farms in eastern Veneto, with the aim of investigating the use of water resources in agriculture, identifying critical management issues and promoting efficient technical solutions aimed at the sustainability and resilience of farms. The study is based on a questionnaire administered to a sample of farms located in eastern Veneto and is divided into six thematic sections, with the aim of gathering information on: general characteristics of the farms, irrigation methods used, methods and frequency of interventions, water-saving practices, technical characteristics of the systems, problems encountered in irrigation and prospects for improvement. The study avails itself of the collaboration of four Land Reclamation Consortia (Piave, Brenta, Acque Risorgive and Veneto Orientale), which have supported the involvement of farms and the enhancement of local experiences, as well as the capillarity in the management of irrigation networks. The work provides an updated mapping of the irrigation techniques used, highlighting the strengths, weaknesses and multiple needs of the sector, for both informational and operational purposes. The results will guide information, training, technical innovation and incentive policies aimed at the rational and efficient use of water resources and the resilience of farms in coping with increasing water scarcity, despite the fact that the seasons require more and more irrigation due to climate change.
