Dance, understood as a form of bodily expression and structured activity, is gaining increasing relevance in educational contexts due to its potential to support the motor development of school-age children. This thesis aims to analyze the role of dance as an educational tool capable of stimulating fundamental motor skills such as balance, coordination, rhythm, and body awareness. Starting from a clear definition of key concepts related to motor development and dance practice, the paper collects and compares scientific evidence demonstrating the positive effects of this activity.Through a critical analysis of selected studies, the work discusses the extent to which dance can be considered an accessible, versatile, and valuable activity, both in school and extracurricular settings, contributing significantly to the child’s overall growth. Finally, the thesis highlights the limitations found in the literature and emphasizes the need for further research in order to strengthen the integration of dance into educational and motor development programs for children.
