Romantic relationships offer the opportunity to experience emotional connection, mutual support and personal development. Throughout adult life, the relationship takes on a central role in promoting psychological well-being, profoundly influencing the quality of life and emotional health of partners. Each individual enters the relationship with a unique baggage of lived experiences, internalized relational models and modes of affective regulation, which sink their roots in the first experiences with the figures of care. This work aims to study how adult attachment is associated with the quality of relationships, specifically couple interactions, relational and sexual satisfaction. The first chapter explores the relationship between adult attachment style and the quality of romantic relationships. Starting from the attachment theory of John Bowlby, the work reconstructs the evolution of the construct in adulthood, distinguishing the main evaluative approaches: from the evolutionary-clinical approach, based on the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI), to that of social psychology, based on self-report tools such as the Experience in Close Relationships (ECR). In the second chapter the theoretical analysis highlights how attachment styles influence relational functioning, going to modulate communicative behaviors, conflict management and sexual intimacy. In particular, the distinction between secure and insecure attachment is deepened, highlighting how the former is associated with greater emotional closeness, sexual assertiveness and couple satisfaction, while insecure styles (anxious, avoiding or disorganized) are related to high conflict, emotional avoidance and difficulties in intimate communication. The third chapter describes the research design adopted, the tools used for data collection and the characteristics of the sample. The fourth chapter presents the results of the empirical survey, highlighting the significant correlations between the variables considered. Finally, the fifth chapter proposes a critical discussion of the results obtained, interpreting them in the light of existing literature and considering possible clinical applications.

Abstract
Finally, the fifth chapter proposes a critical discussion of the results obtained, interpreting them in the light of existing literature and considering possible clinical applications.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
