This paper explores the impact of lifelong learning on the development of soft skills, now considered essential in the labor market. While academic and professional training programs provide solid theoretical and methodological preparation, they also help cultivate relational, critical, and organizational skills that impact both personal growth and socioeconomic well-being. The analysis begins with the concept of human capital and is framed within the framework of lifelong learning, adopting transformative learning as an interpretative perspective to assess the value of skills in lifelong learning. The paper reviews active methodologies, with a focus on e-learning, examining practices such as peer-self education and the flipped classroom, as well as digital technologies that may foster critical reflection, and delving deeper into the use of generative AI. Evidence from recent literature and teaching experiences shows how these approaches can strengthen interaction, foster self-efficacy, develop critical thinking and consolidate human capital as a strategic lever for individuals and organizations.
Il presente lavoro esplora l’impatto della formazione permanente nello sviluppo delle competenze trasversali (soft skills), oggi considerate essenziali nel mercato del lavoro. Se i percorsi accademici e professionalizzanti forniscono da un lato una solida preparazione teorico-metodologica, dall’altro contribuiscono a coltivare abilità relazionali, critiche e organizzative che incidono sia sulla crescita personale sia sul benessere socio-economico. L’analisi prende avvio dal concetto di capitale umano e si colloca entro il quadro del lifelong learning, adottando l’apprendimento trasformativo come prospettiva interpretativa per valutare il valore delle competenze nella formazione continua. L’elaborato propone una rassegna delle metodologie attive, con un focus sull’e-learning, esaminando pratiche come la Peer-self Education e la Flipped Classroom, nonché le tecnologie digitali che potrebbero favorire i processi di riflessione critica, approfondendo altresì l’impiego dell’AI generativa. Poiché le evidenze tratte dalla letteratura e dalle esperienze didattiche recenti mostrano come tali approcci possano rafforzare l’interazione, favorire l’auto-efficacia, sviluppare pensiero critico e consolidare il capitale umano quale leva strategica per individui e organizzazioni.
