The objective of this experimental thesis is to investigate the level of awareness of coaches that they can be promoters of life skills towards their adolescent athletes. Starting from an introduction that takes up the theoretical framework of positive youth development (PYD) and the PYD models applied to sport, we focus on life skills and in particular on their connection with sporting activity. We then proceed with an in-depth analysis of the role played by coaches in transferring these skills to young people, with a look also at the Paralympic and Special Olympics world. The research intends to be a contribution to the Italian validation of the CLSS-Q and to underline the importance of integrating life skills into sports programs.
