The thesis examines the condition of childhood in contemporary societies, showing how the logic of protection—though originally a historical achievement—has gradually taken the form of control and surveillance. The first chapter reconstructs the emergence of childhood as a social construction and highlights the persistence of an adult-centered gaze that continues to speak about childhood rather than with it. The second chapter applies this perspective to the analysis of practices and institutions that, in the name of care and safety, separate children from spaces of autonomy and participation, generating dependency and invisibility. The third chapter presents an educational interpretation of parkour as a bodily practice capable of restoring freedom, responsibility, and citizenship to children. Through the triad of redefinition, re-signification, and re-appropriation, parkour enables children to inhabit urban space as a place of experience, learning, and cohesion, offering a concrete form of protection grounded in participation.

Abstract
Through the triad of redefinition, re-signification, and re-appropriation, parkour enables children to inhabit urban space as a place of experience, learning, and cohesion, offering a concrete form of protection grounded in participation.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
