Sulla pedagogia della terza età: trasformare la vecchiaia in possibilità

The thesis focuses on the pedagogy of the elderly. Since our country is third in the world for the number of elderly people, it is necessary to give the right value to this phase of life too, rethinking its meaning from a pedagogical perspective. We are prone to think of old age as a period of generalized decline, on a cognitive, physical and reputational level. The aim of the thesis is to shed new light on this stage of the life cycle, as important as all the others, and enhance its educational potential. Therefore, the age of senescence will be analyzed from several aspects: the possibility of the Lifelong learning, the danger of the social stereotypes linked to aging, and the importance of an intergenerational dialogue between the young and the old.

L'elaborato verte sulla pedagogia della terza età. Poiché il nostro Paese è il terzo in classifica mondiale per la quantità di persone anziane, è necessario dare il giusto valore anche a questa fase della vita, ripensandone il significato in ottica pedagogica. Si tende a pensare all'età senile come un periodo di decadimento generalizzato, a livello cognitivo, fisico e reputazionale. Lo scopo della tesi è quello di dare una nuova luce a questo stadio del ciclo di vita, tanto importante quanto tutti gli altri, ed esaltarne il suo potenziale educativo. Pertanto, verrà analizzata l'età della senescenza sotto più aspetti: la possibilità di continuare ad apprendere, la pericolosità degli stereotipi ad essa legati in ambito sociale, e l'importanza di un dialogo intergenerazionale tra giovani e vecchi.
