This dissertation aims to investigate, through bibliographic research and autoethnographic methods, the modalities and tools by which social and tangible spaces can be constructed to foster coexistence among neurodiverse people. The foundational point is to be identified within the neurodiversity paradigm: the study adopts the critical lenses of queer studies and crip theories within an intersectional and decolonial framework as its foundational points, through the deconstruction of the medical model while opposing the pathologization of bodies and minds. This work analyzes a series of examples of both public and private, commercial and non-commercial spaces that already implement accommodation measures for neurodivergent individuals. This analysis observes both the positive aspects related to enhancing coexistence and the negative ones concerning the risk of washing (superficial or performative inclusion). The school and academic environment are studied, examining the current state and possibilities for improvement across all students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and school communities in general. This segment highlights the profoundly transformative role of education through the potential of enabling education and mutual exchange. The study also addresses virtual spaces, such as social networks, and the development of self-advocacy communities. These platforms have provided and continue to offer neurodivergent communities crucial opportunities for contact, knowledge, and access to first-hand information and experiences. The paper then proposes methodological models (including community maps and ecomaps) for a bottom-up construction of social places. The goal is to allow neurodiverse people to create supportive dimensions of reciprocity and empowerment, critically engaging with the context of neoliberal productivity. Furthermore, it suggests methods for inclusive design planning to create livable, adequately equipped, and safer spaces that are in continuous evolution. This approach would allow everyone to use and navigate these spaces without the need for externally imposed aids. The conclusion emphasizes the necessity of strong, bottom-up communities and movements, which must be complemented and integrated with the formulation of attentive and receptive policies from a top-down perspective.
