This paper has collected all the information relating to the production, use, and marketing of oil in ancient Greece. Olive oil was indeed a true treasure for the Hellenic nation, as the plant is one of the few capable of withstanding the nation's dry climate, and over time it became one of its most prized products. There is much Roman-era evidence regarding the aspects previously described, but in this paper we have sought to rely almost exclusively on Greek evidence, in order to provide a more precise and reliable overview of the matter. Although certainly partially replicating Greek methods and timeframes, the situation in Roman times could still have been different from that of Greece and therefore not entirely reliable. We have also attempted, where possible, to more specifically divide the information on each aspect examined by its respective historical period.

Abstract
We have also attempted, where possible, to more specifically divide the information on each aspect examined by its respective historical period.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
