The purpose of this paper is to explore and analyze the connection between Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) and self-esteem, which is often compromised in individuals with such a diagnosis. Frequent failures and the lack of motivation typically observed in those with academic difficulties are perceived as debilitating obstacles that lead the child to experience a sense of failure and shame. Often, the strategies that are implemented focus primarily on supporting and enhancing deficits in writing, reading, and math skills. However, by neglecting the emotional repercussions that these disorders can have, such effects may become entrenched and persist into adulthood. Based on these considerations, the aim of this paper is to highlight the importance of a comprehensive intervention approach—one that includes not only tools to support academic challenges, but also strategies aimed at strengthening the child’s self-esteem and assisting families in promoting their psychological well-being.

Abstract
Based on these considerations, the aim of this paper is to highlight the importance of a comprehensive intervention approach—one that includes not only tools to support academic challenges, but also strategies aimed at strengthening the child’s self-esteem and assisting families in promoting their psychological well-being.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
