The aim of this thesis is to evaluate various sustainability certification systems in viticulture, particularly the organic method certification, the National Quality System for Integrated Production in integrated agriculture, the VIVA certification for sustainability in Italian viticulture, and the EQUALITAS certification. The study compares sustainable viticulture methods, highlighting their differences and peculiarities. The development of organic viticulture and SQNPI (National Quality System for Integrated Production) at national and European levels is described, referring to the new subsidies provided by the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Additionally, the main issues of cultivation using the organic method are illustrated. For each method, an analysis was conducted on the relevant regulations, production standards, parameters, and evaluation process of the certification procedure. The study also examines various alternatives to reduce the impact of agriculture on the environment, new techniques to ensure the production of quality products while respecting the ecosystem, and other important factors such as ethical and social considerations for integrating agriculture with the territory.
