This thesis focuses on audiovisual translation through the study of the first season of the Netflix series Lupin. Its aim is to carry out a comparative analysis between the French original version and its subtitled and dubbed versions in Italian. The objective is to examine how the two translation modes, each with its own specific constraints, transmit or transform the elements of the source text. Firstly, the study presents a theoretical introduction to audiovisual translation and a contextualization of the series. Secondly, it focuses on four main aspects: the variation of linguistic registers, the reduction and condensation strategies typical of subtitling compared to the fidelity of dubbing, the treatment of realia and cultural references, and the intertextual allusions to Maurice Leblanc’s novels.
