Women's Poetry of the First World War: Loss, Memory, and Mourning.

My thesis will explore the culture of war in Britain during the First World War, with a particular focus on the role of women. The first part will examine the impact of the conflict, the role of propaganda, and the different male and female voices on the war. The second part will focus on the women writers of the time, highlighting their experiences both on the home front and the battlefield. Finally, the third part will be dedicated to women who actively participated in the war: workers, nurses, and often forgotten combatants, whose contribution was essential but invisible to many.

La mia tesi tratterà della cultura della guerra in Gran Bretagna durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale, con una particolare attenzione al ruolo delle donne. Nella prima parte si fa riferimento all'impatto del conflitto, al ruolo della propaganda e alle diverse voci femminili e maschili sulla guerra. La seconda parte si concentra sulle scrittrici dell'epoca, evidenziando le loro esperienze sia sul fronte domestico che quello bellico. Infine, la terza parte è dedicata alle donne che hanno partecipato attivamente alla guerra: lavoratrici, infermiere e combattenti spesso dimenticate, il contributo è stato essenziale ma invisibile agli occhi di molti.
