This thesis analyzes the effect of forest management on the presence of tree-related microhabitats within forest stands located in Val di Rabbi (Trentino, Italy), in the Stelvio National Park. In order to compare stands characterized by different dynamics, surveys were carried out in managed and unmanaged forests. For each sampled tree, whether living or standing dead, diameter at breast height (DBH), species, and the number and type of tree-related microhabitats were recorded. The data were used to assess the extent to which forest management and dendrometric characteristics influence the presence of tree-related microhabitats.
Il seguente lavoro di tesi analizza l’effetto della gestione forestale sulla presenza di dendromicrohabitat all’interno di popolamenti situati in Val di Rabbi (TN), nel del Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio. Al fine di confrontare soprassuoli legati a dinamiche differenti, i rilievi sono stati condotti in popolamenti gestiti e non gestiti. Per ciascun albero campionato, vivo o morto in piedi, sono stati rilevati il diametro a petto d’uomo (DBH), la specie, numero e tipo di dendromicrohabitat presenti. I dati sono stati utilizzati per valutare in quale misura la gestione forestale e le caratteristiche dendrometriche influenzino la presenza di dendromicrohabita
