This thesis analyzes the figure of the siren through a genealogical reconstruction of the myth within the Western literary tradition. Starting from ancient sources, the study examines the main transformations of the siren figure up to its contemporary literary reappropriations, considering a range of authors. The analysis focuses on modes of representation of the myth and its rewritings, with particular attention to thematic continuities and variations over time. The thesis is based on a textual and comparative analysis of literary sources.
La tesi analizza la figura della sirena attraverso una ricostruzione genealogica del mito nella tradizione letteraria occidentale. Partendo dalle fonti antiche, il lavoro esamina le principali trasformazioni della figura della sirena fino alle riprese letterarie in età contemporanea, prendendo in esame diversi autori. L’analisi si concentra sulle modalità di rappresentazione del mito e sulle sue riscritture, con particolare attenzione alla continuità e alle variazioni tematiche nel tempo. Il lavoro si basa su un’analisi testuale e comparata delle fonti letterarie.
