Low back pain is an increasingly widespread condition among the population; there is no single cause that determines its onset, and therefore it is becoming increasingly difficult to prescribe a personalized physiotherapeutic program for each individual. The main objective of this research is to find a correlation between the diaphragm and low back pain, highlighting the positive effects that diaphragmatic training can produce. Through a literature analysis, to verify the functions of the diaphragm and their correlation with posture, motor control, and the respiratory system, with the aim of emphasizing the therapeutic role of the diaphragm itself and which rehabilitation proposals can be implemented for the management of Low Back Pain. A functional deficit of the diaphragm may represent one of the causes of the development and maintenance of chronic low back pain, negatively influencing motor and postural control. Therefore, are there specific diaphragm-targeted exercises that may be useful in reducing LBP? This study is based on a bibliographic search on the main scientific search engines, with particular attention to randomized clinical trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. Key words = “diaphragm dysfunction”, “chronic low back pain”, and the outcomes analyzed are pain reduction and improvement in quality of life.

Abstract
Key words = “diaphragm dysfunction”, “chronic low back pain”, and the outcomes analyzed are pain reduction and improvement in quality of life.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
