This research project stems from a curiosity to explore the delicate balance of couples who work together and therefore share their personal and professional lives. In this particular type of romantic relationship, the balance between the two spheres mentioned above appears particularly complex, as two different systems—work and relationship—overlap, giving rise to a dual identity: partners are both life companions and colleagues. The first part of this paper reviews the literature on the main types of working relationships characterized by the overlap between the private and professional spheres, with particular reference to workplace couples, copreneurship, and work spouse relationships. The second part is dedicated to the presentation of a qualitative study conducted on 17 couples who work together. Through semi-structured interviews, this research investigated the experiences of the participants, particularly the advantages and disadvantages of working together, the management of boundaries, and the individual and couple coping strategies adopted. The data emerged were derived through thematic analysis, which allowed us to identify themes representative of the partners' experiences. The conclusions discuss the main implications of the results and highlight the suggestions provided by the participants to couples who work in the same workplace or those who intend to embark on a shared career path.

Abstract
The conclusions discuss the main implications of the results and highlight the suggestions provided by the participants to couples who work in the same workplace or those who intend to embark on a shared career path.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
