The present study examines how different ways of presenting social development scenarios influence environmental attitudes as a function of individuals’ levels of social dominance orientation (SDO). In the experimental design, participants are randomly assigned to a condition featuring either a high-tech development scenario (HT) or a green de-growth development scenario (GDG). Subsequently, environmental attitudes are measured, with particular focus on support for climate change mitigation policies. It is hypothesized that SDO will interact with scenario type (HT vs. GDG), such that individuals high in SDO will show greater openness toward environmental issues when exposed to a high-tech narrative compared to one centered on green de-growth. The aim is to advance understanding of the psychological mechanisms underlying the communication of policies that are susceptible to ideological polarization.

Abstract
The aim is to advance understanding of the psychological mechanisms underlying the communication of policies that are susceptible to ideological polarization.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
