This thesis aims to analyze the benefits of volunteering during adolescence from the perspective of Positive Youth Development (PYD), with particular reference to Lerner’s 5Cs model. After introducing the phenomenon of volunteering, the characteristics of adolescence, and the main theoretical assumptions of PYD, the paper explores volunteering as a context for positive development, examining the activities carried out by young volunteers and the motivations that lead them to engage in such experiences. The thesis then presents findings from reviews in the scientific literature, mainly following the structure of the 5Cs model. Overall, the findings highlight the role of volunteering as a meaningful experience for promoting positive development during adolescence, emphasizing the importance of encouraging and supporting youth participation in educational contexts.

Abstract
This thesis aims to analyze the benefits of volunteering during adolescence from the perspective of Positive Youth Development (PYD), with particular reference to Lerner’s 5Cs model. After introducing the phenomenon of volunteering, the characteristics of adolescence, and the main theoretical assumptions of PYD, the paper explores volunteering as a context for positive development, examining the activities carried out by young volunteers and the motivations that lead them to engage in such experiences. The thesis then presents findings from reviews in the scientific literature, mainly following the structure of the 5Cs model. Overall, the findings highlight the role of volunteering as a meaningful experience for promoting positive development during adolescence, emphasizing the importance of encouraging and supporting youth participation in educational contexts.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
