The alpine ponds of central-southern Trentino represent aquatic habitats of high ecological importance for mountain biodiversity. In this context, Odonata are used as biological indicators of the quality and environmental characteristics of aquatic ecosystems. This thesis analyzes the composition of Odonata communities in different alpine ponds and evaluates their relationships with the main environmental variables. The results highlight differences in community structure among sites, suggesting that factors such as altitude, hydrology, and vegetation influence species distribution. This study contributes to the knowledge of Odonata ecology in alpine environments and to the role of alpine ponds in biodiversity conservation.

Abstract
The alpine ponds of central-southern Trentino represent aquatic habitats of high ecological importance for mountain biodiversity. In this context, Odonata are used as biological indicators of the quality and environmental characteristics of aquatic ecosystems. This thesis analyzes the composition of Odonata communities in different alpine ponds and evaluates their relationships with the main environmental variables. The results highlight differences in community structure among sites, suggesting that factors such as altitude, hydrology, and vegetation influence species distribution.
