The aim of this dissertation is to analyze the transformation of the status of the object within the context of early 20th-century philosophical debate, focusing on the Neo-Kantianism of Emil Lask (1875–1915) and the historical-materialist perspective of György Lukács (1885–1971). In particular, the aim is to examine how Lask, through works such as The Logic of Philosophy and the Doctrine of Categories (1911) and The Doctrine of Judgment (1912), progressively developed a vision of the object, culminating in the formulation of an objectivist theory of the transcendental, according to which the subject’s judgmental activity is not only characterized by the fundamental impossibility of fully knowing the object, but is also responsible for its fracture and disintegration. The paper then aims to highlight, starting from an analysis of the work History and Class Consciousness (1923), how György Lukács took his cue from a confrontation with Lask in order to outline his own concept of reification, identifying in the form of the commodity the specific configuration assumed by objectivity from the perspective of the relations of capitalist society.

Abstract
The paper then aims to highlight, starting from an analysis of the work History and Class Consciousness (1923), how György Lukács took his cue from a confrontation with Lask in order to outline his own concept of reification, identifying in the form of the commodity the specific configuration assumed by objectivity from the perspective of the relations of capitalist society.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
