La concezione del sufismo in al-Kalābāḏī (m. 995 ca). Metafisica e antropologia spirituale nel suo Kitāb al-Taʿarruf li-maḏhab ahl al-taṣawwuf

This study aims to investigate the nature and doctrines of Sufism as conveyed through the work of one of its foremost exponents, Abū Bakr al-Kalābāḏī (d. c. 995). Structured as a comprehensive collection of sayings by the most authoritative masters of the past, his Taʿarruf constitutes one of the earliest and most foundational summae in the history of the Islamic mystical tradition, serving as a primary source for fully appreciating its theoretical scope, speculative complexity and metaphysical depth. Furthermore, the work provides a preliminary yet extensive introduction to Sufism within contemporary historiographical reconstructions, alongside a general overview of the author.

Questo studio si propone di indagare la natura e le dottrine del sufismo per come sono restituite dall’opera di uno dei suoi massimi esponenti, Abū Bakr al-Kalābāḏī (m. 995 ca). Costruito come un’ampia raccolta di massime dei più autorevoli maestri del passato, il suo Taʿarruf costituisce una delle più antiche e fondanti summae nella storia della tradizione mistica musulmana, nonché una delle fonti che consente di apprezzarne maggiormente lo spessore teoretico, la complessità speculativa e la profondità metafisica. Il lavoro fornisce inoltre una preliminare ma estesa introduzione al sufismo nelle ricostruzioni storiografiche contemporanee e una presentazione generale dell’autore.
