This thesis analyses the transformation of the postmodern consumer from a mere passive recipient to a true co-creator of value through an exploration of product hacking. Starting with a brief overview of experiential marketing and the meaning of the “consumer experience”, the thesis examines how creative Do-It-Yourself (DIY) practices can sometimes take on a subversive connotation and transform into shared, collective and collaborative activities within Communities of Practice. The focus then shifts to the IKEA ecosystem, whose products have become a “platform” open to creative customisation. Finally, after tracing the emergence of the first online communities and their relationship with the brand, the analysis focuses on the subreddit “r/ikeahacks”. The study aims to understand how relational dynamics and knowledge exchange within these communities foster the construction of a shared identity, transforming individual activity into a source of common and social value.

Abstract
The study aims to understand how relational dynamics and knowledge exchange within these communities foster the construction of a shared identity, transforming individual activity into a source of common and social value.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
