Deviance represents a complex phenomenon influenced by social, educational, and relational factors that contribute to shaping its forms and meanings. Over time, sociological and pedagogical interpretations have progressively moved beyond viewing deviance as a purely individual phenomenon, highlighting the role played by the social context, structural conditions, and educational experiences in the development of deviant behaviours. This thesis examines the relationship between social conditioning and individual responsibility, emphasizing the limits of a purely deterministic conception of deviance. While acknowledging the influence of social conditions, the analysis considers the individual as capable of attributing meaning to their actions and exercising forms of choice and agency even within difficult contexts. In some cases, deviance may therefore take on the meaning of identity seeking, a need for recognition, or an attempt at personal affirmation. The final part of the thesis focuses on the role of education and intervention practices aimed at the prevention of deviance. In particular, it analyses the function of school and family as protective factors capable of supporting alternative paths and fostering better life opportunities.

Abstract
In particular, it analyses the function of school and family as protective factors capable of supporting alternative paths and fostering better life opportunities.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
