This thesis explores the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and primary education, focusing on teachers’ perceptions, uses, and perspectives regarding the integration of AI-based tools into educational practice. After an initial theoretical section dedicated to the definition of Artificial Intelligence, its applications in education, and its main pedagogical and ethical implications, the research develops through an empirical investigation conducted by administering a questionnaire to primary school teachers working in a comprehensive school in the province of Vicenza, Italy. The aim of the study is to understand teachers’ level of knowledge and use of AI, as well as to analyze their attitudes, perceived opportunities, and concerns, particularly with regard to inclusion, personalized learning, and professional training. The findings reveal a generally positive attitude toward the educational potential of Artificial Intelligence, especially in supporting teaching activities and personalizing learning pathways. At the same time, significant training needs emerge, together with concerns related to ethical issues, data privacy, and the preservation of the educational relationship, highlighting the importance of a critical and conscious use of technological tools. Finally, the study emphasizes the importance of teacher training and the development of appropriate pedagogical guidelines in order to promote a responsible integration of Artificial Intelligence within primary education.
